Stephen Ministry Prayerful Pep-Talks
Before the meeting
A prayerful pep-talk to help you transition from your busy life, release nervousness, and focus on being a compassionate, non-judgmental presence—a "vessel" for God's love—rather than a "fixer." It provides scriptural grounding and tips for the start of the visit.
After the meeting
An invitation to self-care immediately following the visit, emphasizing the need for emotional release of the care receiver's story to God through prayer and physical action.
Bible Verses from fellow Stephen Ministers
The Lord is my shepherd:
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
A Psalm of David - 23 (NKJV)

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore, comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18:
